ABOUT THE SPEAKER
DR SONIA K DAS
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
GOVERNMENT LAW COLLEGE, THRISSUR
Dr. Sonia K Das is an Associate Professor at the Government Law College, Thrissur, Kerala . Having completed her LL.B. from the University of Mangalore and her LL.M. from the Department of Law, University of Kerala, Dr Das secured a UGC Research fellowship and did her PhD on “Women Empowerment and the Law: A Study with Special Reference to the Legal Protection of Women Workforce” from the University of Kerala. She began her academic career as Lecturer in Law at the Centre for Women’s Studies, University of Calicut and subsequently joined the Government Law College faculty. She is also one of the Directors of its Legal Services Clinic and the Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre. She is also one of Elenchus Law Review’s chief editors and is a research supervisor with the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Cochin. She has to her credit several publications, paper presentations and extension lectures.
