About the Session
Environmental Impact Assessment or EIA can be defined as the study to predict the effect of a proposed activity/project on the environment. A decision making tool, EIA compares various alternatives for a project and seeks to identify the one which represents the best combination of economic and environmental costs and benefits. About the Inaugural Speaker
Adv. Nagaraj Narayanan

Adv. Nagaraj Narayanan is a member of the Bar Council of Kerala and the Managing Trustee of the Bar Council of Kerala Trust. He has established legal practice in the High Court of Kerala, Ernakulam since 1997 and is the Managing Partner of the Law Firm, M/s Nagaraj Associates, Kochi and is the Standing Counsel in the High Court of Kerala for several Banks and Corporations. He has 27 years of experience in dealing with Civil and Criminal cases, and more than 24 years experience in the High Court of Kerala in conducting cases in Constitutional, Administrative, Civil, Criminal, Arbitration, Banking, Education, Constitutional, Insolvency, Bankruptcy, Corporate, Service, Labour, Insurance and Environmental Law matters. He is also an environmental activist who specializes in environmental litigation. He is currently functioning as the Special Government Pleader (Forests) in the High Court of Kerala since July 2016. He also serves as honourary Director of Kerala Law Academy (KLA) and Adjunct Professor at the National University for Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. He has completed his LLB and LLM with 1st rank from the Kerala Law Academy (KLA) with specializations in Administrative Law and International Law.

Nabeela Siddiqui
Research Scholar
CHRIST (Deemed to be University)
Nabeela Siddiqui is currently pursuing a PhD in law from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR. She has previously worked as a Research cum Teaching Assistant at National Law University, Jabalpur as a Research Assistant at National Green Tribunal. Principal bench, New Delhi. She was awarded the prestigious President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, gold medal along with three other awards during her master’s. She is an active member of the International Society of Therapeutic Jurisprudence and All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA).
